I am looking for any information on my family name. I know little of my ancestoral roots and wish to know more. My father says we are of Scottish descent, but I'm not really sure.
Any information that you could provide would be of great value - if we are talking about the same McVeety's.
All I know is that the earliest McVeety I can trace is James McVeety from Perth, Ontario, Canada.
My father's name is Ronald McVeety, his father's was William. They are from Restoule, which is near North Bay, Ontario. I believe my father's grandfather was Thomas.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as our family history is very sketchy and many older relatives have passed on.
