I'm looking for info on my great-grandfather, born about 1825-1830 in Scotland. Possibly in Argyll. If the "naming custom" works, his parents would have probably been named John McVicar and Elizabeth ?. He emigrated at some point to the US before 1853. Do you know of any combinations of John McVicar and an Elizabeth who would have been married in the early 1800's? Thanks...Jan
