Hi: Sorry, wrong Archibald. The parents of James Ewen (Hugh) McVicar are John McVicar, b 1836 in Scotland and Ann McDonald, born 1843 in Scotland. They were married in 1863 in Culross Twp., Bruce Co., Ont and had the following children:
Ann, born 1864
Flora, born 1866
Angus, born 1867
Hugh, born 1869
Donald, born 1871
Archibald, born 1872
Sarah, born 1874
Malcolm, born 1876
Mary, born 1878
John, born 1880
These dates are from the 1871 and 1881 census for Kincardine Twp., Bruce South, Ontario. I have more info on this family but too much to post here. I can email it to you if you are interested.
