Mark, Hope this message reaches you, in Japan or where ever yuo may be. My great-great-grandmother, Annie MacVicar ("Annie Ban," or "fair-haired Annie"), arrived in Cape Breton about 1817 with her husband, Colin Campbell, and two sons. They came from Barra in the Hebrides Islands, off Scotland's west coast. The only thing I know about her is that her father was a seaman who drowned, an event that somehow led to her being reared in Glasgow by a woman named Sarah Shaw who also came to Cape Breton later in her life, settling in Beaver Cove. I'd of course like to know if any of this suggests even the remotest of family connection. It's been frustrating to find so little information about my MacInnis relatives. Regards, Paul Schofield, Hingham, Mass.
