Hi Corrine,

I'm just getting started in this family searching as I knew nothing of my father's history on his mother's side. I came across some papers titled "The history of the Mcwhinney Family". It begins with John Mcwhinney of Sligo Township, County Tyrone, Ireland and continues through 5 generations. It was probably written sometime in the 1940's. It gives some dates that conflict with yours and my records show that he married Margaret "Burns", a relative of Robert Burns, the poet. I descend from John Mcwhinney, through James Mcwhinney & Elizabeth McKee, daughter Margaret Mcwhinney Clark (Martin), their daughter Elizabeth Clark Smith (Daniel Torry Smith), their daughter Anna Osborne SMith who married William Boswell, his son Marion Clark Boswell, my father. A lot of dates are given and I have an immigration date of 1782 or 1783.

If I can be of any help, please write.

Bob Boswell
