Good Morning
I saw your entry re McWhinney on
I think we are related. I, too, have a William and Margaret
in my descendent lines. My McWhinnie (note spelling),
came from Scotland to Halifax (we think) although we are
not 100% sure. The earliest findings we have are of
John McWhinnie born circa 1797 who was the son of
William. John married Sophie Eye in Halifax in 1828 and from there we trace the descendents in our line to the present day. They moved to Granville (Victoria Beach to be exact) in Annapolis County, Nova Scotia, Canada. Can you add anything earlier re our first Willliam? Where and exactly when did he come and where did William come from exactly? How early do your
records go back. Will gladly share any info we may have.
Sharon Fisher (My mother was a McWhinnie)
