DeWitt DNA Family Tree Testing I tried to e-mail Kevin DeWitt in Ohio, but his e-mail is bouncing back. I don't know any of Katherine Glassaway's family from Texas. I thought I'd post this message here for everyone to consider and comment on. I found on the internet some information about genetic genealogy. "http://www.familytreedna.com" I was wondering if any DeWitts would like to try to connect our branches using this method. I thought about getting a dozen people together who would like to do DNA testing, if this information on the internet is worth doing. I guess this would be for Ohioans, Western Marylanders, Southwestern Pennsylvanians, West Virginia, and our southern DeWitts. I think if we could get some people from New York and Holland to participate, we could take a look at the results and compare them to the family tree book. Research from West Virginia is where I go on guess work to Pennsylvania to connect my DeWitt past to recorded history and documents. Sometimes guess work can be accurate, but I’d rather see if anyone would want to do DNA testing, if DNA testing would help for that matter. I guess we might need two dozen people to get accurate results, i.e. enough DeWitt representation so we don't have to go back and do it again. I think we could all chip in to pay for the test. Sincerely, Rebecca A. DeWitt dewitt@pennswoods.net Maryland Notify Administrator about this message?
