I'm searching for information on Sapience Harrison who applied to William Penn for a land grant of 200 acres in Appoquinimink Hundred (New castle County, DE) on February 2, 1723. Later documents list his name as Sapiens Harris. Sapiens probably died in the early days of December,1750. His will was probated on December 15, 1750 in DE. Sapiens and his wife Catharine, had two sons, Joseph and Jacob Harris. Jacob died in 1754. Joesph Lived until 1777. Their descendents farmed for many years in New Castle County DE,and married with many other families including: Caulk, Wheldin, Griffin, Nash, Sinclair (or St Clair?)Barkus, Allston, Reynolds, Brockson, Bostick, Ball, Robinson, Benn, Donoho, and Lattomus. Many of them also settled in Cecil County, Maryland. Sapin Harrison is listed as being owed a "desperate money debt" in the list of debts for the estate of Charles Sayler (also Charles Sallyard) of Knt County, MD dated 28 April 1708, and later of George Sanders of Kent County, MD in 1730. I woulkd appreciate any further information, and would be happy to respond to questions. good luck in your research, Mel Notify Administrator about this message?
