First, thanks for replying to my post, I am new to genealogy and I am finding that a lot of the information concerning family history is for sale and not many free sites or free information, unless you go to the census buildings and look it up on microfilm.
So, I am posting on forms to see if anyone is researching my family or can give me a helping hand. My Grandfather; Walter Otha Shives was born Dec. 25, 1893, but I am not sure where, and he married Aura Loletta Delozier (not sure of the spelling of last name) she was born; May 4, 1898, but I am not sure where either. It seems to me when they were alive that they said he was born in the Hancock, Maryland area and she in the Southern Maryland area; possible Charles County. He died March 1973 and her April 1983 in Charles County, Maryland and buried at Pisgah Church in Charles County. I do not exactly when they were married; I am sure it should have been early 1900, like 1920-1927?
I would appreciate any information you might find or just give me the web sites to look up that do not require membership or a great amount of money.
