Their son COVINGTON MESSICK, b. 1722, Somerset Co., MD. married SARAH ANN UNKNOWN CORBY, widow of David Corby. They had a son also named COVINGTON MESSICK b. 1749 who married NANCY BOONE b. 1750. COVINGTON and NANCY BOONE MESSICK were the parents of RICHARD MESSICK b. 1765 in Sussex Co., Delaware. Sussex Co., Delaware at that time switched back and forth between Maryland and Delaware, due to land disputes between Wm. Penn and Lord Calvert.
