Captain Patrick and daughter Annie Byrd Patrick Taylor - Salisbury area 1850

Looking for any information on the family of "Captain Patrick" - do not know his first name. Is thought to be married to Sarah Ann Byrd. They have children Anna Byrd b. 1853 and Albion H. b. 1852. Sarah and children live with the George Hearn family in the Rockawalking area southwest of Salisbury in 1860 and 1870 census. The Captain is not listed in the census with them. He is listed as the father of Annie in a 1925 newspaper article about Annie's 50th wedding celebration. Want to know the Captain's first name and was he a sea captain or military captain. Annie married Orlando Washington Taylor son of Ichabud Taylor from the Rockawalking area in 1875. Any information or direction would be greatly appreciated.
