In the will of John Evans of St. Mary's Co., MD he gives his wife Elizabeth (Vansweringen) Evans power of attorney to dispose of his land at Pocomoke in Somerset Co., MD if necessary. Her brother Thomas Swearingen, according to family tradition lived in Somerset County but no records as yet to support it. I suspect he may have lived on his sister and brother-in-laws land. I am seeking records pertaining to any of these people.
