Hi Harry, Thank you for sending the History of DE info you found. I wonder why they only mention John Crew owning it in 1700. He actually bought it with his stepfather Robert Hignott in 1679. It is a separate property from the one in Worcester Co MD. The one in DE is 900 acres and from what I have been able to find out, it is SE of Lewes, DE just a few miles, right on Love's Creek. So it is pretty far from Worcester Co. I have been researching it for several years. But I didnt know anything about the one in Worcester Co, I thought it would be considered Somerset, so I didnt look that far south in MD, I thought it was probably a lot farther north in what they call the Morumsco District, because Robert Hignott later moved there. I had seen it mentioned a while back but the sketchy description of its location didnt makes sense to me, now it does since it is Worcester Co. John Crew and Robert Hignott named their land "Westchester" (in DE) two years before John Rust bought and named his 200 acres the same name in Worcester Co. And since I just recently found out they knew the same people and were all involved in one way or another with the two properties, I feel like there is some significance to it that I am missing. They must have been more closely related than I thought. So I need to try to research John Rust and the Bouchers a little more. There is very little on line about them, the Maryland Archives mentions John Rust a little but there is almost no record of the Boucher's of that time period. Thanks again, I appreciate all your help, Linda Notify Administrator about this message?
