I tried to sent an e-mail and it keeps coming back so this is what I found in the Vital Records of Lincolnville by Isabel Morse Maresh on page 99 a list of children
of Levi Gray. Ebenezer was listed as born 11-26-1792. On that page
there is not listed a wife. But on a different page there is a list of
George W Knight and Sally Gray's children. It lists Sally born 4-20-1805 in
Lincolnville dau of Levi and Martha Gray. That birth date for Sally is
the same on pg 99 which lists 8 children for Levi. Another thing I
found in the same book is a deed for Daniel Brown and guess who his
neighbor is. Levi Gray. So that might explain why Deborah and Ebenezer Gray
married. If you would like the list of children for Levi I will gladly
give it to you. If you think that Levi's son Ebenezer is the same
Ebenezer that married Deborah Brown. I don't have any proof that this Ebenezer
is the same person yet. But I would guess that he is.
Canaan Plantation and Lincolnville are the same town sort of. Canaan
was actually Lincolnville Center which is just north west of
Lincolnville.
I will look into finding out if Ebenezer was a whaling captain or not.
