George Washington Myrick is found in the Pedigree Resource File, Disc #5, Ancestry.com, Google, the Dennis Walker Family site, and many others, saying he was born in Unity, Maine, August 22, 1818. So far the Unity vital records can't prove that. The Unity vital record department shows he married Polly W. Adams at her father's house in Unity on May 11, 1843. They show up in the 1850 and 1860 Federal census. I know he moved to Illinois in 1864. He is buried in Libertyville, IL at Lakeside cemetery, dying in Chicago on 19 Nov 1902. His gravestone does have the August 22, 1818 birth date on it. Just can't figure out where everyone is getting his birth date and being born in Unity, Waldo Co., Maine. His father was Isaac Myrick Jr. and is buried at Unity, ME. Sure could use some help. He's my great-great grandfather and need this info for the Mayflower Society..thanks for any reply
