ear Bill Scott, I am a descendant of Thomas Purvis and Margaret Watson, whose son, Robert Turnbull Purvis (and some siblings) moved from Prestonpans to Glasgow/Govan about 1840's. They were involved in the pottery business. His brother Thomas's child was Christina Herriot Purvis, and she married Mearns. Have been working on this line of Purvis genealogy since 1970's.
