Schoolhouse, Kinellar, Aberdeen.
James Mearns--age 38,Teacher of Public School, born Bourtie, Aberdeen.
James Alexander---son, age 8, born Kinellar.
William Y----son, born Kinellar.
Jessie Ann---daughter, age 5, born Kinellar.
Helen Emslie--Gen Servant, age 18, born Kennethmount, Aberdeen.

5 Link Street, Pitsligo, Aberdeen.
Alexander Youngston--Inspector of the Poor, age 78, born Strichan, Aberdeen.
Helen---wife, age 66, born Pitsligo.
Margaret Mearns---daughter,Scoolmaster's wife, age 45, born Pitsligo.

From the IGI a James Mearns was christened at Bourtie 25/12/1842 to a James Mearns and an Ann Reid.

The only ones that tie in on the 1881 census are
3 Belmont Road, Bourtie, Old Machar, Aberdeen.
Rev James Mearns--retired Schoolmaster Licentiate of the Church of Scotland, age 75, born Bourtie.
Jessie---wife, age 69, born Bourtie.
