I'm very excited to introduce myself to this family website. My mother was the youngest daughter of J. H. & Bessy Mecaskey of Decatur. I'm the youngest daughter of Lula Clay Mecaskey Wilson and John L. Wilson, Jr. of Vega, Texas. I was very lucy to grow up in a small town with 3 of mother's sisters living right there in Vega. There was Dollye Mecaskey Stone, Madge Mecaskey Van Meter, and Margarite Mecaskey Thompson. Don't forget there was my mother, Lula Clay. I can't tell you, how many times I've heard the rhyme: "Mighty, Dollye, Madge, May, Margrite and Lula Clay. Mother was the only one with a middle name. "THE BABY GIRL"
I'm most interested in the Hicklin family. Aunt Madge told me stories and I have no way of knowing if they are true or not. All I know is Mama sure was mad at "Madge" for telling these stories. I would appricate any information that anyone has on Martha Hicklin Mecaskey. I understand she is buried in Pilot Point. Maybe Blue Cemetary?
Aunt Madge said, "Martha died in 1910."
Joe Parr are you living in Decatur? Would love to hear from you or your younger brother Jeff. It has been to many years.
I live most of the time in Austin, Texas with my husband of 25 years, Gary Schutze. Gary has been in the Austin Fire Dept. for the past 24 years and we are both looking forward to his retirement (hopefully) this year. I have been a registered massage therapist for the past 12 years and am semi retired. Family and friends I can't refuse. I have started a new point of interest. Concert photos. I have press ID and I'm having a ton of fun.
Gary and I have an apartment on a very small island in Mexico. Isla Mujeres, is our special spot. We love the sea, sand, and sun. The Maya people are of much interest to both of us. So, Isla Mujeres makes for a great base camp.
I have two daughters Rhonda is 30, single living in Ausitn, Texas. Nicole is 24, married has two children. Brooke is 3 years old, and her younger brother is 23 months old, and his name is Carter. She is married to a wonderful young man Phil Rickman and they live in Dripping Springs, TX., just outside of Austin.
I haven't had a computer but for a short time and am learning everyday.
My e-mail:
My phone: 512-442-1376
My add: 4714 Englewood Dr.
Austin, TX. 78745-2133

And again I'm looking forward to being a part of this family website and learning more about my family history.
