Christine Meders was in Gibson county, Ind. in 1860 living with an Eperson family, just as I said before..
From the 1860 Indiana census, Gibson co. page 792,
David L. Eperson age 32, b. Ky.
Lu San I. 31 b. Ind. ( Probably Luzanne ??? )
Mary C. b. 1854, Ind.
Sarah A. b. 1858, Ind.
Ema R. b. 1859, Ind.
Christine Meders b. 1844, Ind.
I don't know how this Eperson and Meders relate to mine, I have no doubt they do. My grandfather William Dike married Martha Medders, daughter of John William Meadors/Medders b. 1830. Posey co, Ind. and Laura Denby of Illinois.
The Martha Medders my grandfather married was born about 1872, they married in 1887, Illinois. They had several children and then she died. Some of the children died and 3 survived. He then married her sister Laura Gertrude.
One of the children was Laura Dike and she married James Sterling Epperson. I am curious that the Eperson your Christine lived with, was related to my Eppersons in some way. I have no doubt your Aaron Medders was a close relation to John Wm. Meadors. Medders, by the way, is a variant of Meadows. The name went from Meadows to Meadors, to Medders, even Medden, Meders, Medors, all kinds of spellings. Later!! Janice.
