Dianna - I am the great-grandaughter of Mary Burnett Meddock Muret.Thank you so much for your posting!I am a novice at trying to research family history.I am actually trying to find information on the Burnett (Burnet) link as I am the fourth generation with that middle name and would like to pass on more information to my daughter Sarah Burnett before she gives birth to her daughter who will also be a "Burnett."The names of my Meddock great-grandparents that you posted will be a great help!
I am now wishing I knew more about the Meddock family history. My great-grandmother died when my grandmother was only 16, so, much was lost in her early passing. My grandmother did tell me about her Aunt Travilla whose two daughters, Mamie and Sadie (probably Mary and Sarah) housed my mother and older sister while my father was in the navy during the war.The only other "Meddock" story I was told by my grandmother was that the youngest daughter, Sarah, was killed accidently when a broom handle fell and hit her in the temple.I'm wondering if that was just a wild story that was embellished over the years... It made quite an impression on my young memory :)
I assume since you made this posting that you are a Meddock descendent as well.If you are descended from one of these siblings, I guess that makes us distant (very) cousins!I would appreciate any more information you might have on the ancestors of Francis or Sarah Meddock.Thank you again for your posting.Barbara Purcell
