I tried to reply to your e-mail and it was sent back to me, so I will put it here. I hope you can get the MyFamily.com invite...
Well, I started genealogy a very long time ago, and have so much information
with sources -- live and learn, except I didn't learn well, because I also
grab information for the net.
I have been working with a lady who is the possible source for your Medici
info. I don't believe that it is proven so you might want to put a question
mark by it. Back in the famous Medici days in Venice and Florence the
Alberti and Medici families were fairly close, but there is no record I know
of that put her surname as Medici.
Many of the Alberti changed the name to Burtis here in America, and in the
1800's in NY there is a article that states that all people with the surname
Burtis descended from Pietro at that time. There is much info on him and
Love to keep in touch and will send that invite for the Burtis=Albertis,
Alburtis site. I have a photo of the San Luca church and there is a copy of
Pietro bapt cert- he was baptized another name, in fact the name of his dead
brother, but the family thought it a bad omen to call him that so they
called him Pietro.
Ok, please keep in touch as I do have quite a bit on the line as do some of
the others on the site.
