I was born a Meech in Grimsby in 1955 -there are a few of us there - all related and descended from a Thomas Meech who was married to Ella. Thomas was my great grandfather and I understand that he came to Grimsby from Great Yarmouth where he had the Bull Public house for a while. His nickname was Tapioca Tommy (I would love to know why!) I have not yet researched far but the Norfolk census of 1891 has a Thomas Meech aged 30 (which would fit with the other generations of the family) and according to that he was born in London.
Is this of any interest to any other Meeches out there?
