Dannielle, Hi,

Where are the references for Edward MEECH and Hannah BENSON?
At present I am not able to trace them. Where are they from and when? Any other details may be able to help check better i.e who were their parents or children.

In England the MEECH name seems to stem from the Beanminster area of Dorset with links to The Isle of Wight and Portsea (Portsmouth), Cornwall, Sussex, Grimsby and the area around Manchester/Liverpool. From about 1650 there are MEECHes in America who seem to have come from Dorset. In the 19th century they found their way to Austrailia and New Zealand.

Look forward to hearing from you again,

Bernard
