An Odd Little Theory about Meeches

Ok here's a funny twist. I too am a Matthew Meech living in England, (Bristol). Didn't know of hardly any living Meeches other than direct family, then I find this page and there's another Matt!!

Robert, my dad has a Cousin, Bernard (note 12/19/00), and a Brother Edward, who have looked into the family history quite deeply to find oddities happening around 1870's, (illegitimate children and suspicious Dock accidents!!), Thomas Henry Meech born Bothenhampton in 1839 is about as far as they have found I think.

Before that little is known. Maybe moves to the US or perhaps New Zealand. Any Clues anyone?

My theory is a bit of a long shot compiled from things Bernard and Ed have found out and Items on this web site:

It is possible that Thomas Henry Meech was killed by a crane at a dock in London where he was working for the father of a Martha Wheatley, with whom he had an illegitimate child, Thomas. Illegitimate since his wife lived elsewhere.

Thomas Henry Meech was Born in 1839, I don't know who the father was but a Henry Meech left to go to the other side of the world New Zealand in 1840 (for what reason??) with HIS wife Mary Anne who was pregnant with son Alfred Robert Meech.

Maybe Thomas Henry Meech was HIMSELF a love child named after his Father, Henry.

Told you it was a long shot, but it makes a good story!!
