I am also tracing my Meech family in Dorset, Beaminster and Netherbury in particular. There are difficulties here in that I am given to understand that information for some years is missing. Also there is the possibility of the name being missheard when original entries were made. There are many people in this area with the name MAISH. I think this would probably been MEECH but having been given in a Dorset accent would have been written with the Maish spelling.
I am trying to trace the parents of John Meech born in Beaminster on 18th July 1808. He married Sarah Newman of Beaminster on 22 Oct. 1836.
Sorry I have no information regarding your Martha Meech.
Ken Meech, Malvern, Worcestershire.
