Hi, Jerry!
It is extremely likely that Littleton Meeks Fountain’s parents were members of Rev. Littleton Meeks’ congregation. The Reverend was a highly respected minister, as evidenced by his congregation’s referral to him as “Daddy Meeks,” instead of the usual titles associated with his calling. Scores of parents named their children after him, and while researching his life and career, I often found myself diverted into other family histories. When looking up “Littleton Meeks,” I frequently found someone else’s first and middle names.
This is highly possible, particularly if your Fountain family resided in Franklin County, Georgia, from 1806 to 1852. That portion of Franklin County in which Rev. Littleton lived has since become Banks County.
Hope this is helpful.
