I live in Victoria, my fathers name is David and his fathers name is John Mehegan, but he gets called "Hughie".I believe he is in Melbourne.
My fathers parents split up when he was little, but he still keeps in touch with his father on rare occassions. My grandfather remarried and had another family, but I have never met them.
I am extremely interested in finding out my familys history. I believe we originated in Ireland.
I was recently looking at the site for the Australian War Memorial and found a Hughie Mehegan in WW1 or WW2. Also my father is on the site Re: the Vietnam war.
I hope this helps with a piese of the puzzle.
