Thanks for your help. It seems that there may have been another son somewhere (being your grandfather). I have not obtained Georges birth certificate yet but am in the process of it. When I do I am hoping htis could be cleared up. I know that when a cousin of mine (now deceased) tried to track the family tree he came across illigitimacy and this seemed to stop a lot of progress. The names that keep cropping up could not be that coincidental. I will keep you informed of my progress.
