dear gail,i found 1 mention of mehagan in the griffiths 1851 valuations,co. cork.courtesy of bob meehan of dunwoody, seems that a timothy mehagan rented or leased a townland called knockgorm from a lord kinsale during that year.the property was located in the parish of kilroan,which i am sorry to say,i cannot find on my cork,ross or cloyne dioceses maps.i am just assuming that it was located in the kinsale bay area.good luck,good hunting,cousin.jim mehigan
