Hello Ted.Saw your post from some years back. My dad had a family rumor of his branch of the Mehans having come from/through France, but never found any substantiation. I would dearly love for this to be the breakthrough!I have traced him back to his great-grandfather James Mehan b. Ireland 1835, emigrated 1864/65, found in 1880 U.S. census in Springwells, Wayne co., Michigan.Wife named Jane. I haven't been able to find him in the 1870 census, although I know he was in Michigan somewhere at the time (dates and place of children's births). There I hit a wall. Any possibilities? My tree on Ancestry.com is named All Together Now.
