FANNY MELLORS born Warsop, Notts, 1871 married JAMES HENRY CLARKE of Edwinstowe, Notts. in the Mansfield district 1886. James Henry Clarke was born Edwinstowe 1865 son of George Clarke (Woodman on the Thoresby Estate) and his wife Mary (Booth of Worksop). James was the survivor of twins.
James Henry and Fanny Clarke had FLORENCE MAUD born Rotherham district 1888, JOHN ERNEST born Wortley district 1891, JAMES OLIVER born Mansfield area 1893, GEORGE born Mansfield area 1895 and HENRY THORNTON born Mansfield area 1897. James Henry Clarke was employed as a Coal Face worker, in 1901 living in New Cross Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield. On 24 April 1917 Private GEORGE CLARKE age 22 1st/5th Bn. South Staffordshire Regiment was killed and buried in Canadian Cemetery No 2, Neuville - St Vaast.
