Three of Baldwin MELTON's daughters (Louisa, Susan, Barsheba) were enumerated in family 164 of District 1290 in the 1880 census for Meriwether Co. GA. Louisa Melton was married to Jessie BRIDGES.
The following is from FamilySearch 1880 U.S. Census site. [N.B. The actual census shows Louisa was born in GA. The transcription erroneously states VA.]

What the transcription does not reveal is that Barsheba died in May 1880. When I reviewed a scan of the archived census page for this family at a pay site, I noticed that Barsheba's information has a line drawn through it and there is a note referring to another schedule. Later, I found a transcription of the 1880 Federal Census Mortality Schedule for Meriwether County, GA which revealed her death.

I apologize for the disorganization. I am rebuilding my family tree file with 68500 individuals. I was unaware of the verion 9 Family Tree Maker bug until I compacted my files and noticed "bad" citations. I have 4 months of corrupted backups. Thank God, I found a backup I made before I updated to version 9 FTM.
In fact, I was entering the source reference for the death of Barsheba when I noticed the bad data. I don't know much more about the Melton's of Meriwether County GA but they are the family that I am currently researching in the 1860 and 1870 Meriwether County GA census.
Yesterday, I discovered a Rebecca MILTON (MELTON) age 85 born in Georgia in household 855 family 855 of the 1860 Meriwether County GA census. She was enumerated in the household of Isaac (age 71 b. GA) and Nancy T. (age 66 b. GA) THRASH. Do you know how this Rebecca MELTON is related to Isaac and Nancy [THOMPSON] THRASH (m. 11 Feb 1810 Putnam Co. GA)?Also, I am trying to determine how she is related to our Baldwin MELTON.
