This is what I THINK I've found.....Solomon Melton (Sr.) from Onslow County, NC had five sons. This is what I have surmised at this point, but I would surely welcome any others information.

Robert Melton - his will dated 9 Nov 1784 list sons Jesse and Solomon, Reuben and Thomas and a younger son, Benjamin and daughter Susannah. All of the sons, except Benjamin remained in the Onslow County area. In 1810 in Edgefield County, SC. Allen Melton, Benjamin Melton, Michael Melton, Matthew Melton, Susannah Melton (yours?), Isham Melton all appear. I think Susannah went to Lowndes County with My Solomon, her nephew?

Of all the brothers, I thin Benjamin is the one that seems to follow MY Solomon to Edgefield, and at this point, I think is perhaps Solomon's father.

I have made copies of a lot of Onslow County records, there were a TON of Meltons there. I would be happy to send copies to you! Please let me know!

I'd love to figure all of this out!!! Please keep in touch!
