Rosa had a brother named George. According to 1880 census in Fluvanna, little Rosa and George were the children of Lucius F Melton, a flour mill worker, and Frances Melton. According to the census, they had an older sister named Mary Jane, a brother Charlie, and a baby brother 11 month old James. No one in my family ever heard of anyone but George.
In the 1850 Census in Fluvanna, I found a 6 year old Lucius, which would be about right if he's the same one, as the son of Joshua and Nancy Butler. Lucius was the baby of 6 children. I have no idea if I'm pursuing the right family. His brothers would have been Pearce, Lewis, John, Garner, and sisters were Ann and Mary.
I did find something about a Lucius F Melton serving in the Civil War in Capt. Snead's Co, Va Light Artillery, Fluvanna Artillery. I don't know if this is the same one in the census or if he's really in my tree or not.
