Henry Clay Melton
Posted by: Lynn F. Graham (ID *****3471) Date: August 10, 2010 at 21:10:52

According to Henry Clay Melton's WW1 registration he was born 23 Oct 1893 at Marmaduke, Greene Co., AR. Shortly after filling the WW1 registration out he joined the US Navy 14 Dec 1917 at St Louis, MO and was honorable discharged 4 Feb 1919 at Norfolk, VA.
Sometime between 1920 and 1925 Henry wed a Lavonia (Vona) Underwood Bynum, born about 1895. She had a son named Houston Bynum born about 1917.
So far I have been unable to find either marriage of ? Bynum or Henry C Melton.
Henry, Vona, and son Houston were on the 1930 Flint, Gennessee, Michigan census where Henry was working in an auto factory.
I have never found anything past this. Where they went, where they died, the dates of either marriage to ? Bynum and Henry Melton.
Henry's parents were John H Melton b. about 1857 Tn. and Nancy Lacena? b about 1859, Tn
Both living on the 1900 census, Greene Co.
Lavonia's parents were Robert H and Amanda E. Alexander Underwood, living near Reyno, Ar 1910.
Any help appreciated.
