Info/photos/documents Meltons of Decatur,Tn.

I am searching for any info, photos, or documents regarding the Melton families of Decatur, Tn., or Meigs County, Tn., and Albermarle County, Va.This would cover the timeline back to 1645a.d. I am trying to make the connections back to England. My father's name was Wendell Melton,b.may 1923, Decatur,Tn. His father was Lonnie Thomas Melton, b.about 1898,Decatur,Tn. His father was Thomas Duggan Melton,b.about 1854, Meigs County,Tn. Thomas Duggan was one of 8 children of James Fowler Melton,b.1824 in Va., and Jane Allen,b.about 1824 in Va. Their other children included Uriah Cooper Melton,b.1844,Meigs Co.,Tn., Robert I.Melton,b.1846, Meigs Co., John Melton,b.1848, Meigs Co.,Margaret A.Melton,b.1849, Meigs Co., Thomas O.Melton,b.1856,Meigs Co.,Sara A.Melton,b.1857,Meigs Co.,Elinor L.Melton,b.1860,Meigs Co., and James F.(?Franklin?) Melton,b.1863,Meigs Co. James Fowler Melton (a soldier in the Civil War,Company H.,5th Tenn.Volunteers, died in battle in 1864 near Nashville) was a brother to Robert Melton,b.1823,Meigs Co. Robert Melton fathered at least two children, William Melton,b.1843,Meigs Co., and James Melton,b.1845, Meigs Co. Robert Melton and brother James Fowler Melton were two of the children of John Melton,b.about1768 in Virginia (?Albermarle Co.?) and his wife, Sarah, believed to have been born in Virginia about 1766. There is a possible connection to Horace K.Melton who arrived from London in Virginia in Dec. 1647; and to Henry Melton, arriving from London to Virginia in 1635; and to Thomas and Hannah Melton who arrived from London to Virginia in 1638. I have been unable to make the connection from John Melton to any of these three possible ancestors from London. If any one out there has any information on this line of Melton genealogy, or any photos or documents (birth, wedding,or death certificates, military, or census) on any of the Meltons I have listed or if you know the possible burial sites for any of those listed, please contact me at the above e-mail address jryanmelton@yahoo.com
