Not sure if this will be of help to you or not....
pilot.familysearch.org shows H.G.J. Garloff married Malissa Melton, 4 Mar 1870, Anderson Co TX. Seems possible that her nickname could be Allie or Mallie.
I see George Garloff, 1900 census in Houston, Harris Co TX as a widow (born Mar 1844, Germany) which tells me that she was deceased by 1900.
I noticed that Allie is shown as aged 20 in the 1880 census in Palestine, Anderson Co TX but I think this is incorrect - especially since they married in 1870.
Also in the findagrave website there is a J. C. Garloff who died May 22, 1915 (aged 10 per sexton's records) buried Palestine City Cemetery, Anderson Co TX. Since Garloff is such a rare name - I would think it is a possibility that J.C. was a child of of Henry George Garloff and Malissa Melton Garloff. At least it suggests some more research should be done to see if there is something further to prove or disprove a connection.
I saw in the 1910 census he says Henry G Garloff was married 3 times and that he has been married to Mary for 9 years and that Mary had no children.
I did see a few Meltons also buried in that Palestine City Cemetery in Anderson County, TX:
Daniel Melton, died June 11, 1883; aged 9 years
Rev. J. E. Melton, born Dec 27, 1814; died nov 28, 1877.
While some of my Meltons came into Texas, this does not appear to fit into my Melton branch.
