Andrew Hooper in 1837 bought land from Lewisey Melton, wife of James Melton who was deceased. The deed was signed by Archelous Melton, Rhey Lawson, Ab Hooper and Valentine Lawson. Archelous Melton in 1830 was in Cocke County, TN and he was 60-70 with a male 0-5 and 2 females 0-5, 2 females 5-10 and 1 female 20-30. In 1840 Archelous Melton in Bradley County, TN has 2 males 5-10 and 1 who was 70-80. He had 1 female 5-10, 3 females 10-15, 1 female 15-20 and 1 female 30-40. Was James Melton the son of Archelous? Who was Lewisey or Levisey?
