Lucille Melton Knight Johnson, 87, died Wednesday, September 12, 2001, at the North Miss Medical Center in Tupelo, Miss.

Services were held at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tracy Arnold and Bro. Jim Holcomb officiating.
Burial was in Jumpertown Cemetery.

She was born August 24, 1914 in Prentiss County, the Daughter of John Noah Melton and Sally Augusta Pardue Melton.

She was a Charter Member of the Independent Church of God, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and sang in the choir.

She is survived by seven Sons, John H. Knight and Wife, Gene, of Columbus; Billy W. Knight and Wife, Sue, of Ft. Worth, TX; Robert G. Knight and Wife, Shirley, of Ripley; Lloyd Knight and Wife, Louise, of Booneville; Melton Knight and Wife, Brenda, of Caledonia; Harold Knight and Wife, Sandra, of Booneville; and Keith Knight and Wife, Judy, of Caledonia; five Daughters, Evelyn Hamby Moore of Booneville; Shirley Rayfield Palmore and Husband, Bill, of Caledonia; Sarah Watts and Husband, Bobby, of Booneville; Martha Miller and Husband, Ray, of Beulaville, NC; and Kathy Day and Husband, Richard, of Saltillo; a Sister, Stella Short of Booneville; 52 Grandchildren; a host of Great Grandchildren; Great Great Grandchildren; and Great Great Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her First Husband and Father of her 13 Children, Johnie Wayne Knight; her Second Husband, Travis Johnson; a Son, Charles Knight; two Brothers, Amos Melton and Humbert Melton; 2 Sisters, Edith Huddleston and Ernestine Miller.

Pallbearers were her Grandsons, Daniel Rayfield, Junior Bums, Glenn Hamby, Scott Morgan, Robert Knight, Johnny Wayne Knight, Chuck Knight, Eddie Knight, Chris Knight, David Knight, Matthew Knight and Jason Knight.
