Our oral family history has us looking for the first wife of THOMAS WILSON SPEIR, I have been given the name of MARY ELIZABETH MELTON by other researchers, and have a copy the the marriage certificate of T. W. Spear/[Speir] and Mary Elizabeth Melton on 19 May 1859, Yalobusha Co. MS.

W. Spear/[Speir] and Mary Elizabeth Melton on 19 May 1859, Yalobusha Co. MS.Oral family history tells us that THOMAS WILSON SPEIR and two brothers were in the Civil War.His two brothers were killed. Thomas deserted in 1863, and went in search of his wife (name ?).He could not find her or her their two children - (names ???).He search the southern states.
