Hi Michelle Marie,

I wanted to get information out concerning the Mendiola name and families related. I'm from Hawaii, live in Northern California now. When growing up, we weren't sure where the Mendiola's came from originally. Some say Guam, like yourself, others said the first Mendiola to come to Hawaii (my ancestor) came from Spain and that he was Basque. Pedro Mendiola.
Records are difficult to find and I'm not sure who is correct.
I'm trying to reconstruct whatever information I can.
