I, too, am a Mendoza. My maternal grandmother was Rachel Mendoza, born in London in the 1860's. Daniel Mendoza was, I believe, her great uncle, but I have to pin that down. Family oral history leads me to believe that to be true, and also the connection with Peter Sellers. Bevis Marks Synagogue in London has published all their circumcision, death and marriage records going back to 1656. They are available for sale. By using them and the Mormon web site at www.familysearch.org, I have been able to trace my Mendoza roots back to 1730. When I have time, I'll try to pinpoint Daniel.
