Just recently learned that my 3rd greatgrandfather was Benjamin Menees/Manees/McNees/M'Nees born in TN. The only inforamtion we have at this time is from the 1860 & 1870 census records. By that time he was in Noxube County, MS. His wife's first name began with E., suname unknown. The childen were shown as Ellen Mary b.6-19-1833, m. Walter Cyrus Cruikshank, Alex b. ca 1837, Matilda b. ca 1844, John b. ca 1846 and James b. ca 1847. Another "cousin" says there was another daughter named Bell. Our infor says that Matilda married a Thompson, John married Maryetta ?, James married Ann Bridges. We could certainly use some help if any of this seems to fit into your line.
