Thank you for the info!!! I have been very busy with my 89 year old mother-n-law, so I am late with the thank you's. That was good info and just maybe it will help me link with Manerva's half-sisters. These two siblings, Lucy and Eliza are listed with her in the 1850 Davidson Co Census. In the 1860 Census, Manerva and Lucy are enumerated with their parents, Joseph W and Mary Ham Dabbs. I have not found the married names of Lucy or Eliza. They may have not married and died young.

I really have not had the time to search this family very much because I am centered on the Dabbs line! My great-grandfather, Richard C Dabbs is first cousins with Lucy and Eliza and step-first cousin with Manerva. Richard did live with Joseph and Mary, his uncle in 1850 until ? Richard did marry in Dec 1859 and to Louisa Ham of all people, niece to Mary and first cousin to Manerva, Lucy, and Eliza.

This genealogy hobby is a lot of fun and this little bit of info rang a bell for me. My great-grandfather Richard's daughter was born @1873. I believe Richard and Louisa must have named her after first cousin, Manerva Meenes. They were all reared close to each other.

Louisa's grandfather who was Mary Ham Dabbs' father lived at the next house to Joseph and Mary Dabbs. If I remember right, Samuel Ham deeded land to his daughter, Mary and her husband, Joseph W Dabbs. Joseph was the brother to Thomas C Dabbs, my gg-grandfather. Manerva was 15 in that 1850 Census and Richard was 14. He was an orphan living with his father's brother, Joseph.

Thanks again for the info!
