Deb, Bingo, yes we have a match. My Grandmother was Mrs, Charles Greiner (Margaret Lotz born Nov.9,1903 died July 26, 1989) When her mother died of the flu her grandmother survived her by quite a few years so that must be the obit you have.
I have the obit of "Martha" Margaret Elizabeth Mengel born Jan 17, 1877 died Feb 15, 1920.
the evening tribune, Beaver Falls, Pa. 2-16-1920 obit reads: Mrs. Martha E. Lotz aged 43 died at her home in New Sewickly Township at 12:15 yesterday noon after an illness of influenza and pneumonia. She was a member of the St John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Freedom. Those surviving are her husband, John Lotz, four daughters, Edna, Margaret, Alma and Claribel a son John Lotz, Jr and her mother, Mrs. William Mengel and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at the home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock and Internment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetary, Freedom.
I have no other info except some Lotz Family info. When I was a little girl (in the 1940' and 50's) we used to visit with my great Aunts Alma Barto and Claribel Winkle and there used to be a big cornroast in the summer where they lived...great uncle John Lotz used to have a horse and buggy that we rode in. I also remember going out to the country where my grandmother's sisters lived and collecting black walnuts or berry picking. I recall one of Claribel's daughter's married name was Zahn, I think. Looking forward to sharing more. What is your source? I have just begun my search. Bonnie
