Dave,
I took my information mainly from the book of Sabina Wanner "Rheinwalder Auswanderung im 19. Jahrhundert", which is based on church books and registers of Rheinwald communities. There you can find the following Information in German:

Martin Mengelt 1811-1892

Short in English:
"Martin Mengelt of Spügen, Switzerland, emigrated with his spouse Ursula, nee Rüedi, and their six children, first to Mantua in Italy, and then, in 1855 to America, first to Bangor Wisconsin.
The six children which emigrated from Switzerland with the family were Ursula, born 1841, Martin, born 1843, Menga, born 1844, Johann, born 1847, Christian, born 1851 and Elsbeth, born 1853."
