I have been seeing information on Rootsweb regarding Solomon D Menser, but I believe there is an error. It shows his spouse as Malinda Lantrip. Solomon D, son of Solomon and Dolly Croft Menser, was born Feb 17, 1834. He married Elizabeth Jane Menser, daughter of Thomas C Menser, Dec 23, 1854, when he was 20 years old. Elizabeth died in Dec, 1868, leaving him with four children, Elizabeth Jane, abt 13 yrs old; Francis M, abt 10; Solomon W, abt 7, and Sarah A, a year or less old. He married Sarah M Rust, daughter of Joshua and Delilah Hobbs Rust, Feb 16, 1869, just a few months after Elizabeth died (probably because he needed help with his children.) I know they were married until his death Jan 17, 1897. Unless he married Malinda before he was 20 and they were divorced, I just don't see how it is possible he was ever married to her. And his pension papers show he was only married twice. Does anyone have proof of such marriage? Thanks for any insight.
