Rosannah Merck was the d/o Johann Balthazar Merck b)1718 in Germany d) 1789 Abbeville District SC, and Elizabeth b) 1726 in Germany. Johann could have been changed to John, however, he also used Balker as a first name. Rosannah b) Nov 18, 1752 in Jakabsweiler Germany, name was origially Rosinia Maria. Rosannah was 12 when they arrivied in 1864/1865 on the ship Union in Charleston SC. The family was given a land grant in SC in 1765.
