William Merck (1812 Hall Co. GA) was the son of John Merck (abt 1760 Germany). John Merck is thought by many to be Johann Jacob Merck (1762). We know Johann Jacob arrived in Charleston in Dec. 1764 with his parents. Johann Jacob was with a group that just disappeard, when they were on the way to fight at the siege of Savannah in 1778-79.
IS JOHN MERCK REALY JOHANN JACOB MERCK??
