STOUT-SMITH-MERRILL/MERRELL - NJ TO NC
Posted by: Betty A. Pace (ID *****9305) Date: April 12, 2007 at 11:44:37

Rowan Roots (NC)mailing list has recently had a discussion of the Benjamin Merrill and wife Jemima Smith family history from NJ, and later the Jersey Settlement of Rowan & Davidson Co., NC. Both line go back to the Richard and Penelope Stout family of NY & NJ. Out of that discussion, the web sites of Mark Valsame have been located and they are excellent. I thought perhaps some others might want to get directions to his research as he is very scholarly and thorough.

Mark Valsame's web site, with photos of house, documents, graveyard etc. Also has run down on family history. Bible pages are also transcribed. If the links don't come up when clicked, just copy and paste into your browser.
